I will suggest that you are approved before you complete an application with the dealer that you go ahead and complete one before you get emotional about a purchase at the car lot. This is when they take advantage of you, You can end with a payment $150 or $200 more a month. It's a game to them because the sales manager gets extra money on his check for overcharging you. This seems illegal, but it's not.
